IISE Dayton-Cincinnati Members,

Thank you for a fantastic 2018!  It has been a busy year with lots of wonderful events.  I want to give a special shout out to all of the board members who have worked passionately to make it such a standout year; thank you for the work you do for us all!

I am looking forward to 2019, the opportunities it will bring us, and the community and friendships we will be able to foster together throughout the year.  We will be starting strong with our commitment to quality STEM education and outreach with our participation in the 17th Annual TechFest event, put on by the Affiliate Societies Council of Dayton.  As an organization, we have the opportunity to impact our community in a positive way.  By participating in these types of events, people, especially children, have the opportunity to see the diversity that is possible in engineering. They have the opportunity to see someone like them who is an engineer, who cares about engaging with them, which translates to them being able to see themselves in the roll of an Industrial Engineer in the future.  As the community grows, so does our profession, our chapter, and our ability to share.  As we enter 2019, I am looking forward to the year to come as we work together to share these opportunities for us all to grow and learn as a community, together.
